Jonathan fails narrowly to claim second place
in championship
Despite spinning out of the first race and as a
result, not being able to clinch second, Jonathan was pleased with third
and the £30,000 that goes with it. “The spin this morning
was very frustrating, as it cost me second in the championship. But the
second race was excellent; clean and very quick – just how it should
be. But overall I’m happy – at the start of the season, I
said I wanted to finish in the top three and I’ve done that. I’ve
also claimed one of the touring car test slots and that was one of the
main motivating factors for me.

Jonathan's weekend was hampered by an incident
with another driver in the first qualifying at Donington. He started from

race, however, his main rival Jackson won both races to increase his lead
over Jonathan in the championship.

Magny-Cours lap record for Jonathan
Reigning ELF Renault Clio Cup Champion Jonathan
Adam (Kirkcaldy) showed his class by beating two of his contemporaries
in a Mégane Trophy test at Magny-Cours on Monday, February 27th.
The test was part of Jonathan’s prize for winning the title last
season, giving him the chance to compete against the winners of the Swiss
and Spanish Championships.
In a car provided by Renaultsport, and operated by Eurocup Mégane
Trophy team Energy Racing under Team Owner Georges Kaczka, Jonathan was
first on track at the 4.4km circuit, which hosts the French Formula One
Grand Prix.
After a de-brief with Energy Racing engineer Fred Galizzi, Adam was back
on track in optimum conditions at 12.15pm. With a fresh set of tyres,
Jonathan smashed through the 1min 50 barrier to set a time of 1min 48.990,
with a top speed approaching 135mph. As in the first session, the pace
proved too hot for his continental rivals who could not reduce their respective
deficits. |
